Job Description
Description Serve with the department director, managers, and team to provide professional, prompt, and friendly interaction with prospective residential MDiv and MAR students. This role promotes the seminary and its programs effectively to prospective students by focusing on communicating Westminster's theological and methodological distinctives, in addition to its core values and mission, while walking through the logistics of student life. This role focuses on student recruitment, student support, and student yielding across all Westminster degree programs. Duties and responsibilities 1. (70%) Prospective Student Recruitment Contacting and recruiting prospective students over phone, email, and occasionally in-person Interacting with prospective students regarding the theology, methodology, and content of Westminster Theological Seminary's curriculum Interacting with prospective students on program distinctives as well as logistical questions such as structure and design, cost, financial aid, transfer of credits, and other program details Interacting with students in the admissions process (application requirements, TOEFL requirements, MTE recommendations) Facilitating on-campus visits for students 2. (20%) Student Support Inform students of financial aid options Preparing students for matriculation and student life (recommendations for their needs) Help transition students into the local community by assisting them with employment, finding a local church, and housing. 3. (10%) Prospective Student Events Assist with prospective student days Assist with on-campus events Assist with and travel to external conferences and recruiting event(s) Requirements Skills Customer service and student support skills Empathy, people-centered approach Basic financial skills required Basic administrative skills required Basic technological skills required Qualifications Completed at least one full year in the MAR or MDiv program at Westminster Current student in one of following Westminster degree programs: MAR, MDiv, ThM, PhD In-depth understanding of Westminster's theological distinctives, history, and faculty Attributes Culturally sensitive; experienced working in global settings Highly self-motivated and proactive Strong in team collaboration and communication Strong attention to detail in verbal and written communication Working conditions This is a part-time position, with 20-25 hours per week expected, during the regular work week 80% of this position is providing 1-on-1 phone and video conferencing with the remaining 20% being face-to-face interactions This is an on-campus job which requires presence in the Admissions Office and therefore residence in the greater Philadelphia area Physical requirements This position is primarily in an office / acdemic environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit, stand, walk, and reach. Lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required.
