Patient care:

Research:
We develop and support a rich array of outstanding health sciences research programs, centers and resources. We provide infrastructure and opportunities for collaboration among disciplines throughout and beyond our university to support outstanding research. We foster programs in the areas of basic, translational, mechanistic and population research. Position Summary Develop individualized service plans with families. Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed. Advocate for clients with social service agencies, schools, and healthcare providers. Assist families in obtaining benefits like food stamps, Medicaid, housing vouchers, etc. Connect clients with counseling, job training, childcare, and educational services. Provide crisis intervention and emotional support. Help with budgeting, parenting skills, and daily life management. Coordinate transportation, childcare, and other logistical support. Maintain accurate case notes and records. Report on outcomes for grant or funding compliance. Work closely with other staff such as therapists, housing coordinators, and educators. Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and be placed on rotation on-call list monthly with other clinical team members. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in a Human Services discipline with coursework related to the area of assignment. Some positions may require certification to practice as a certified or licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification Board. Management Preferences
  • Social work or counseling experience; substance abuse population, gender-specific treatment, child and family counseling, justice-involved population and a perinatal setting
  • Ability to address clinical needs in a timely manner
