required Patient population: Adults 1-2 yrs ICU experience preferred Prior travel experience EPIC experience Responsibilities Assess patients' respiratory status through detailed evaluation of vital signs, oxygen saturation levels, and physical examination findings. Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and medication delivery in accordance with physician orders. Operate and monitor ventilators and other advanced respiratory equipment for patients requiring mechanical ventilation or airway management. Perform airway management procedures including intubation assistance and suctioning to maintain airway patency. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans for patients with acute or chronic respiratory conditions. Provide emergency respiratory interventions in critical situations such as cardiac arrest or trauma scenarios. Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatments administered, and response to therapy in medical records. Educate patients and their families about respiratory conditions, medication use, and self-care strategies. Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and infection control procedures. Stay current with advancements in pulmonology, critical care practices, and medical terminology relevant to respiratory therapy. Skills Extensive knowledge of hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU protocols, and pediatric respiratory care. Proven experience with ventilator management and airway procedures in high-pressure environments such as Level I trauma centers or Level II trauma centers. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy related to the respiratory system, and pharmacology for medication administration. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and interpret vital signs accurately. Proficiency in using advanced respiratory therapy equipment including ventilators and pulse oximeters. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with medical teams and patient education. Familiarity with outpatient clinics and geriatrics to support diverse patient populations. Knowledge of medical terminology pertinent to acute care settings. Experience working in hospital environments with a focus on pulmonology or critical care units is highly desirable. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are preferred.
