Restaurant Host

We are seeking a high-energy, polished, and hospitality-driven Host to join our team at a vibrant, high-volume Latin restaurant. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a lively atmosphere where music, culture, and exceptional service come together. As the face of our restaurant, the Host sets the tone—balancing warmth and personality with precision, organization, and strong control of the door.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome guests with genuine warmth, confidence, and a lively, upbeat presence
• Manage reservations and walk-ins using OpenTable (or similar platforms) with accuracy and efficiency
• Control the flow of the dining room by maintaining a strategic and well-paced seating chart
• Communicate continuously with management, servers, and support staff to ensure seamless service
• Accurately quote wait times while managing guest expectations in a high-energy environment
• Balance guest experience with operational needs, especially during peak service and late-night volume
• Anticipate table turns and adjust seating to maximize covers without compromising service quality
• Escort guests to tables with professionalism while maintaining the energy of the room
• Handle high-pressure situations, guest concerns, and special requests with composure and urgency
• Maintain a clean, organized, and visually sharp host stand and entrance at all times
• Answer phones, manage reservation changes, and handle guest communications with confidence
• Support the front-of-house team to ensure a smooth and consistent service experience

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of hosting experience in a high-volume restaurant required (hospitality-driven concepts preferred)
• Experience with OpenTable or similar reservation systems strongly preferred
• Familiarity with Toast POS or similar systems preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to read guests and adapt energy accordingly
• Ability to stay composed, focused, and organized in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
• Excellent multitasking and decision-making skills
• Professional appearance with a strong sense of presence and awareness
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
