Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Restaurant Shift Manager (Closing) to oversee evening operations at our busy casual dining establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food service management experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining smooth restaurant operations during the closing shift. Previous experience in quick service or fine dining environments, along with proficiency in POS systems such as Aloha and Micros, is highly desirable. The successful candidate will play a vital role in upholding our restaurant's reputation for quality and efficiency. Duties Supervise and coordinate all restaurant activities during the closing shift, ensuring adherence to operational standards. Oversee food preparation, food handling, and food safety protocols to maintain high-quality service. Manage POS transactions using Aloha POS and Micros POS systems, including cash handling and reconciliation. Lead staff training, development, and supervision to ensure team members are well-prepared for their roles. Monitor inventory control and assist with food production, catering, and bar service as needed. Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are maintained throughout the restaurant environment. Handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally to ensure guest satisfaction. Conduct staff interviews and participate in hiring processes to build a competent team. Manage shift schedules, assign duties, and oversee staff performance to optimize productivity. Enforce food safety regulations and ensure compliance with health department standards. Assist with budgeting, cost control, and overall restaurant management tasks during the shift. Qualifications Proven management experience in a quick service & fast food restaurant or fine dining environment. Strong background in food preparation, kitchen management, and food safety practices. Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS is preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills with previous supervising or assistant manager roles. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations gracefully. Ability to train staff effectively and foster a team-oriented environment. Knowledge of inventory control, food handling, and food production processes. Experience in hospitality management, catering, or banquet settings is a plus. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple responsibilities during the closing shift. Previous experience in restaurant management or supervisory roles within the hospitality industry is highly desirable.
