Full Job Description Description:
The Restorative Care Aide (RCA) assists in the provision of care under the direct and indirect supervision of the licensed clinical staff in the Habilitation Services Department (HSD), including but not limited to, PT, OT, and SLP. The RCA may provide support to other professionals within the HSD and may have intermittent direct and indirect Nursing supervision as per practice standards. Additionally, the RCA provides both clinical and clerical support as required by Verland. This may include transporting individuals as necessary in a safe, comfortable, courteous, timely, and professional manner via prescribed transport vehicles. The RCA may conduct programs that are established by the licensed clinical staff to maintain such skills related, but not limited to: active and passive range of motion, mobility and ambulation, positioning, communication, recreation, self-care, and behavioral. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.Shift available:
Full Time - 40 hours 7:30am - 6pm :Monday Thru Thursday Contributions:
Utilizes basic medical/nursing/therapeutic knowledge to conduct all maintenance-based programming as established in the licensed practitioner's plan of care. Provides and supports client care delivery in accordance with established practice standards and facility/departmental/regulatory/payor policies and procedures for clinical setting and populations served. Arranges Restorative Services based on residents' schedules and per program requirements and as per plan of care. Facilitates and encourages ongoing, open communication with the licensed clinical staff regarding residents' plans of care, goals, and progression of RCA treatment. Consistently informs the licensed clinician of clients' verbal and non-verbal responses to treatment. Provides training/in-service orientation to designated staff regarding proper lifting techniques, positioning, body mechanics, orthotic equipment, splints, dressing techniques, transporting techniques, adaptive equipment, safety procedures, and other pertinent training as identified by the Interdisciplinary Team and/or consultants. Monitors and assists with mealtime programs in the Adult Training Facility (ATF) and/or residences to ensure proper positioning techniques and procedures are adhered to by designated staff. Completes all necessary documentation such as 90-day reviews, treatment notes, procedures, and observations as requested in the ATF and residences. Participates in all annual, quarterly, and interim team meetings as requested. Orders, distributes, monitors, and manages the individuals' adaptive equipment for defects and/or other concerns. Applies and monitors splints. Assists the Adaptive Equipment Specialist with alterations and/or repairs to adaptive equipment. Communicates effectively, consistently, and in a timely fashion with all members of the Interdisciplinary Team. Assists with the organization and execution of HSD clinics, including but not limited to, wheelchair, orthotics, physiatry, and shoe clinics. Maintains therapy department in a clean and orderly condition. Cleans equipment and care areas per approved standards. Performs routine clerical support tasks, which may include daily logs, ordering supplies, and collection of HSD statistics. Provides an environment conducive to safety for clients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Participates in all infection control, department equipment training, regulatory compliance, organizational safety, and fire safety programs.Exceptional Benefits:

Verbal and written communication skills are necessary to present ideas, programs, and progress reports concerning individuals to staff, parents, and other departments. The ability to interact well with all departments is essential Must demonstrate good organizational and interpersonal skills. Employee should be able to transfer clients, lift weights, transport clients, and assist with treatment on the mat or during ambulation, exercise, and activities. Employee should be knowledgeable in and exercise appropriate body mechanics during treatment. Minimum Training and Experience Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), or have an equivalent medical/educational/experiential background. Two or more years' experience in rehabilitation, working alongside licensed clinical professionals, is preferred. Completion of a Restorative or Rehabilitation Nurse Training Program is preferred. High School Diploma or GED is required. Requires CPR and Basic Life Support certification through AHA within six (6) months of hire. Requires familiarity with Windows operating systems, email communication, word processing, and spreadsheet software. Must have a valid driver's license.APPLY TODAY
