Retail Pharmacist - Part Time (Ashland Location) Kilgore's Medical Pharmacy - 4.1 Ashland, MO Job Details Part-time $60 - $65 an hour Benefits 401(k) Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications Customer inquiry handling Full Job Description At Kilgore's Medical Pharmacy we pride ourselves on giving top-notch customer service through every interaction we have with our patients and other medical professionals. We are building an organization with employees who have a passion for providing superior customer service and who work hard to make a difference not only in our patients' lives, but also in our community. For this position you will dispense drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners and provide information to patients about medications and their use. May advise physicians and other health practitioners on the selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects of medications. Provide superior customer service for patients to fulfill Pharmacy Mission Statement and Core Values. Essential Functions Follow all Federal and Missouri State laws and regulations for pharmacies and pharmacists. Maintain Missouri Pharmacist License and keep in good standing with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy. Answer patient, nurse, and physician questions regarding, but not limited to: medication storage, drug allergies, medication side effects, and interactions. Verify accuracy of all filled orders to ensure proper medication is dispensed to the patient. Take verbal controlled substance (CIII-V) orders and check validity if suspicious in nature. Communicate with various medical professionals, facilities and insurance companies to ensure coordination of patient care. Input new orders and make sure that written prescriptions are legal and valid. Contact physicians' offices as needed to verify questionable or unreadable orders. Plan, implement, or maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, or labeling pharmaceuticals according to policy and legal requirements, to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal. Maintain records, such as pharmacy files, patient profiles, charge system files, inventories, or registries of poisons, narcotics, or controlled drugs. Ensure that patients are educated on how to use products such as, but not limited to: glucose meters, insulin pens, inhalers, nasal sprays, and other products that may require extra training. Other duties as assigned. Skills/Experience Valid Missouri Board of Pharmacy License Professional Degree - awarded for completion of a program which provides all academic requirements to begin practice in the profession. Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures. Knowledge of mathematical or statistical methods to identify or analyze problems Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods. Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules as they apply to Pharmacy. Ability to fluently read, write and understand the English language. Proficiency with the following, but not limited to: active listening; speaking; writing; critical thinking; judgment and decision making; monitoring; reading comprehension; time management; coordination; and management of personnel resources. Proficiency for using a variety of computer and technology-related software and equipment. Proficiency for using web-based technologies, including database systems. Ability to work independently or in a team environment, with or without direct supervision. Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills with all constituents. Education/Certifications Pay Rate $60-$65/hr based on years of employment Schedule We are looking for a part-time pharmacist to work up to 28 hours per week at our Ashland location. You may be asked to work one Saturday a month based on coverage needs. The Ashland pharmacy is open Monday-Friday 8am-7pm and Saturday 9am-2pm. Benefits
