Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist - Retail Job Type Direct Hire A retail staff pharmacist position is available in Alamogordo, New Mexico, offering a travel contract assignment with a duration of 13 weeks or longer (shorter contracts considered). This role supports a retail pharmacy located inside a grocery store and a secondary retail location, providing an opportunity to work in a dynamic, community-focused setting.

Responsibilities:

Prepare, review, and accurately dispense medication orders in compliance with protocols Maintain precise patient medication profiles Supervise and direct pharmacy technician staff, verifying their daily activities Participate in medical emergency response as part of the pharmacy team Conduct medication storage area inspections and identify expired medications Orient and train new team members when necessary Follow infection control protocols throughout pharmacy operations Cover shifts at the primary and, as needed, the secondary retail location, including occasional weekends

Qualifications:

Active New Mexico pharmacist license in good standing or willingness to obtain prior to start Disclosure and verification of all active and inactive pharmacy licenses Minimum one year of experience as a registered pharmacist preferred APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days Flexibility to cover shifts at both primary and secondary locations, including occasional weekends Strong patient counseling, medication dispensing skills, and ability to supervise pharmacy technicians Adaptability to a community grocery store pharmacy environment

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday:

9:00 AM - 6:00

PM Wednesday, Friday:

9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Weekends closed at primary location; occasional weekend coverage at secondary location may be required
