Retail Sales Associate

The Paddington Family of Stores is seeking hard working, detail-oriented, fashion-forward, experienced and motivated individuals with cheerful personalities and an eagerness to learn. The Paddington Family of Stores consists of three unique shops within a one block area in downtown Ashland. We are nationally recognized as leaders in the gift industry. The position entails sales associate duties, inventory management and merchandising among other tasks. The position may require occasional shifts in one of our other two locations. The position is full time and requires a weekend shift.

Sales Associate responsibilities include:

Ensuring the highest level of customer care Building genuine relationships with customers Being knowledgeable of entire store's product offering Handling sales transactions and operating cash registers Receiving incoming product Restocking and merchandising product. Keeping sales floor and work environment neat and clean

Skills and Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED certification or equivalent education or experience. At least two years of boutique retail experience Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Team first mindset. Excellent attention to details and accuracy. Ability to organize and effectively prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines. Experienced computer user. (NCR Counterpoint experience a huge plus) Strong merchandising skills. Able to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.

The physical demands described are those required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position will have portions of time that are sedentary, requiring frequent use of computer monitor and keyboard/mouse. It requires standing and reaching, the ability to talk and hear, and the ability to see and distinguish colors. Other portions of time are active sales floor time - involving walking around the sales floor and between our different stores on the sidewalk. It also requires grasping, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, crawling and lifting up to 25 pounds. This position is primarily set on the sales floor of the store(s).
