Retail Sales Associate (Background Check Required) Atascadero, CA 93422 $17.50 - $20.00 an hour - Full-time $17.50 - $20.00 an hour - Full-time Perry's Parcel & Gift has a permanent full-time position (36-40 hours/week) with primary hours worked in our Atascadero store with occasional support for the Morro Bay store once trained. This position is very active, multi-tasking, and customer service-driven. We are looking for serious applicants who desire secure and long-term employment.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

This position is involved in all front-end operations: packing, retail shipping, and various supported business services including livescan fingerprinting and becoming a Notary Public (we pay for all training and supplies), in addition to being able to provide retail gift sales support. We are open Monday-Saturday and as such, your 5-day work schedule will include a work week that includes 1-2 Saturdays per month. Reliable transportation is necessary, as once trained, the position could include occasional shift assignments to support our Morro Bay location.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Accurate typing (by touch, min 35 wpm), good computer, math, and people skills, office equipment knowledge to include copying, faxing, scanning; automated point-of-sale knowledge, Microsoft Office experience and excellent customer service and sales experience required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must. We are willing to train on the specifics of the job, but retail packing/shipping and notary experience is a big plus.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Please have a minimum of 3 years of administrative/customer service support experience and/or 3 years sales experience in a professional services environment.

Must be self-motivated, detail and goal-oriented, able to multi-task and function in a deadline-driven team environment. Please be kind, honest, and responsible. You should desire stable, long-term employment. Must be flexible for various shifts scheduled between the hours of 8:30am-6:00pm (M-F) and 9:30am-5:00pm (Sat). There is some flexibility to arrange hours around special needs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift and/or maneuver (hand cart) heavy packages and be able to stand and bend for extended periods of time. This is a physically active position due to the nature of our business.
