Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist - Retail Job Type Contract A retail pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist or a candidate willing to obtain licensure in New Mexico prior to starting. This contract position offers the chance to utilize your retail pharmacy skills within a community grocery store environment, serving diverse patients and leading pharmacy technicians.
Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday:
9:00 AM to 6:00
PM Wednesday, Friday:
9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Closed weekends and six major holidays at the primary location Occasional weekend coverage may be required at a secondary location
Qualifications:
Active New Mexico Pharmacist License in good standing, or willingness to obtain before start Disclosure and verification of all active and inactive licenses required Minimum one year experience as a registered pharmacist preferred APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or must be obtained within 30 days Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or to be obtained within 30 days Ability and willingness to provide coverage at a secondary retail location including weekends as needed
Responsibilities:
Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders in compliance with protocols Maintain accurate patient medication profiles Supervise and direct pharmacy technician staff, verifying daily activities Participate in medical emergency response as part of the pharmacy team Conduct medication storage area inspections and identify expired medications Orient and train new team members to ensure competency and compliance Ideal candidates are experienced retail pharmacists comfortable managing staff and providing patient counseling in a fast-paced pharmacy setting. Flexibility to work across multiple locations and a commitment to immunization certification are essential. Candidates open to travel and available for 13 weeks or longer are preferred, though shorter contracts may be considered.
