Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist - Retail Job Type Contract A pharmacy professional with retail experience is sought for a rewarding position in Las Cruces, NM. This contract role offers a dynamic work schedule involving both primary and secondary retail locations, providing opportunities to engage directly with patients and pharmacy teams in a community grocery store pharmacy setting.
Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday:
9:00 AM to 6:00
PM Wednesday and Friday:
9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Closed weekends and six major holidays at the primary location Occasional weekend shifts at the secondary location may be required
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active New Mexico Pharmacist License in good standing, or willingness to obtain prior to start Disclosure and verification of all active and inactive licenses Minimum one year of registered pharmacist experience preferred APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days Ability and willingness to cover shifts at the secondary retail location, including occasional weekends
Responsibilities:
Accurately prepare, review, and dispense medication orders following all protocols Maintain precise patient medication profiles to ensure optimal care Supervise and guide pharmacy technician staff, verifying their daily activities Participate actively in medical emergency response as part of the pharmacy team Conduct medication storage inspections and manage expired medications Train and orient new pharmacy team members as needed This role suits an adaptable, experienced retail pharmacist who excels in patient counseling, medication dispensing, and leadership within a community pharmacy setting.
