Retail Store Associate - Bookstore

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Tiny Cactus is a cozy used bookstore in Bullhead City with a growing online presence and a passionate community of book lovers. We're looking for a part-time Bookstore Assistant to run the shop on Saturdays and gradually take on a few additional weekday hours as we grow. This is the perfect role for someone who loves books, enjoys connecting with customers, and gets excited about the idea of building an audience online.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Open and run the store independently on Saturdays Assist customers at the register and provide a welcoming, knowledgeable experience Sort, organize, and shelve incoming book donations and new inventory List books for sale on online platforms (eBay, ThriftBooks, Whatnot, etc.) Assist with live online book auctions — help set up, describe lots, and engage with viewers Create social media content: photos, short videos, reels, and posts to grow our audience Help maintain a clean, organized, and browsable store layout Take on a few weekday hours as the role develops

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR A

genuine love of books — fiction, nonfiction, all genres welcome Strong organizational skills and an eye for creating an inviting space Comfortable and confident on social media (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok a plus) Experience with or willingness to learn live-selling platforms like Whatnot Able to work independently and take ownership of the store on Saturdays Friendly, customer-focused, and community-minded Basic computer skills; experience listing items online is a plus Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated

SCHEDULE & HOURS

Starting schedule: Saturdays 10am to 4pm Growth path: A few weekday hours will be added as the role and candidate develop. We want someone who can grow with us.
