DDS is dedicated to creating, in partnership with others, innovative and genuine opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities to participate fully and meaningfully in, and contribute to, their communities as valued members. The Regional Risk Manager reports directly to and assists the Regional Director in all aspects of risk and risk-related issues affecting the DDS Central/West Region. The Regional Risk Manager's primary focus is ensuring that the region is in compliance with all applicable laws and policies to ensure the safety and well-being of the individuals the Department serves. This requires a direct responsibility for managing the Regional Director's responsibilities related to monitoring the investigations process, including responding to reconsideration requests and recognizing safety issues in order to refer them to the appropriate persons. Some Administrative Reviews are also completed by the Risk Manager. The position is also responsible for managing the Region's Risk Management System. This task involves regional oversight and management of the risk system and all risk committees within the seven areas, Office of Quality Enhancement (OQE) reviews, and a liaison role in the trigger reporting system. The Risk Manager position also requires participation in Director of Risk Management meetings and acts as a member of and consultant on risk issues which may affect staff or individuals in the region, such as domestic violence or workplace violence concerns. This position requires significant travel within the Central/West Region, in addition to travel to regularly scheduled mandated statewide meetings, which occur at various locations throughout the state.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have at least (A) five (5) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management of which (B) at least one (1) year must have been in a project management, supervisory or managerial capacity or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.Substitutions:
I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required (A) experience. II. A Bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required (A) experience. III. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required (A) experience. IV. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for four (4) years of the required (A) experience. Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate's years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division's Hiring Guidelines.
