RN Fellow Job, Various Day Shifts, GI CSC RN Fellows are offered tuition assistance for their last year of nursing school. Powers Health is hiring a RN fellow for GI CSC to work various day shifts at Community Hospital in Munster, IN. The goal of the Community Hospital Nurse Fellow program is to assist the Nursing student with the development of clinical skills. The Community Surgery Center GI Unit is an embodied staff of nurses who shall render professional nursing care to patients of all ages.

RN Fellow Roles and Responsibilities:

Observes and performs nursing care functions appropriate to the specific nursing unit, under the supervision of the team leader. Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge procedures. Observes diagnostic examinations and special clinical procedures, and assists as directed. Assists with patient teaching, rehabilitation and discharge planning activities. Observes patient's clinical status, needs, and problems, and communicates observations to the Team Leader. Administers treatments/clinical tasks as designated on the Nurse Fellow Skills Checklist which includes assisting the physician with GI/Endoscopy procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Current enrollment in an accredited School of Nursing in good standing. Must have successfully completed at least one semester of clinical experience which included basic nursing fundamentals in a clinical setting. Current CPR.
