Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical care during the night shift on a full-time basis. This energetic role offers the opportunity to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your expertise across a broad spectrum of medical conditions. As an RN in this position, you will be instrumental in delivering comprehensive nursing services, ensuring patient safety, and supporting recovery through compassionate, evidence-based practices. Your dedication will help foster a healing environment where patients feel valued and cared for around the clock. Responsibilities Assess patient conditions through detailed physical examinations, vital signs monitoring, and comprehensive patient assessments to inform care plans. Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and medication management, following strict aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations. Manage complex medical procedures such as catheterization, tube feeding, wound suturing, and ventilator support while maintaining sterile processing standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, including case management, discharge planning, and working with individuals with disabilities or special needs. Document all patient interactions thoroughly using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards. Provide critical care support for acute pain management, trauma medicine, infectious disease care, and emergency room situations within a Level I Trauma Center setting. Support patients across various settings including inpatient units such as ICU, PICU, or Medical-Surgical floors; outpatient clinics; home & community care environments; and assisted living facilities. Skills Proven experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers with familiarity in trauma medicine and acute care protocols. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems including Epic and Cerner for accurate documentation and patient record management. Expertise in diverse nursing procedures including IV insertion, phlebotomy, laboratory specimen collection/processing, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform detailed physical assessments, interpret diagnostic evaluations (e.g., ICD coding/ICD-10), and manage complex medication regimens. Skilled in working with vulnerable populations such as pediatric patients (neonatal ventilator care), geriatrics (memory & dementia care), or individuals with developmental disabilities. Experience in specialized areas like hospice & palliative medicine, long-term care settings including nursing homes or assisted living facilities. Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, patient education on health coaching topics like nutrition or pain management, and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
