Robotic Welding Operator (ABB)

The Robotic Welding Operator (ABB) supports daily production by setting up, operating, and monitoring robotic welding equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone with hands‑on welding experience who enjoys working with automation, learning new skills, and being part of a dependable, close‑knit production team. Responsibilities Set up and operate ABB robotic welding systems to produce steel components safely and efficiently. Review blueprints, work instructions, and weld symbols to ensure parts are produced correctly. Monitor robotic weld cycles and perform manual MIG welding as required during production. Adjust basic welding parameters (amps, volts, wire feed, etc.) and assist with minor program changes when needed. Inspect finished welds for quality, completeness, and conformance to specifications. Troubleshoot basic robot, weld, and fixture issues; escalate more complex problems to the Team Lead. Perform routine cleaning, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping on robotic cells, tooling, and equipment. Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times. Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve quality, efficiency, and safety. Support additional production or fabrication tasks as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

Experience operating robotic welding equipment or automated manufacturing machinery. Ability to perform MIG welding. Basic understanding of weld parameters, fixturing, and part setup. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings. Comfortable working independently while also supporting team goals. Strong attention to quality, safety, and consistent workmanship.

Preferred:

Experience with ABB robotic welders or similar automation platforms. Prior robotic setup, troubleshooting, or basic programming experience. Manufacturing or fabrication background in a production environment. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Manufacturing environment with welding equipment, automation, heat, noise, and industrial materials. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform frequent bending, lifting, and twisting. Use of required PPE at all times. Hours of Work Monday - Thursday 6am to 4pm
