The Automation Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining, troubleshooting, upgrading, and optimizing our automated systems. The Automation technician will provide technical expertise, promote Safety, Quality, Cost, & Reliability that support World Class Operations and demonstrate leadership through the maintenance strategy. - In Every Decision Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts and scheduled and unscheduled overtime Two-year college degree or other education training and certifications Demonstratable experience with PLC Programing, HMI's, Wonderware and/or FTVIEW, scaling instrumentation, PID loopsPreferred Qualifications:
Four-year college degree or other education, training, and certifications. Emerson/GE & Control Logix's Experience Experience commissioning & trouble shootingAB & ABB
Drives Working Knowledge of common protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, Modbus, Profibus, etc.) Familiarity with NFPA 70E-Standard for Electrical Safety in the WorkplaceBOTH INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CANDIDATES MAY BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.
