Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Rotational Molding Shop Technician and Kayak Assembler! If interested, please stop by 1435 Industrial Park Rd in Ellsworth, IA Monday=Friday 8-4:30-or set up an appointment after hours by emailing jim@swellwatercraft.com. We're a kayak manufacturer and we are directly across the street from Love's Truck Stop off I-35. Applying at this site will not help you to get hired. Responsibilities Operate rotational molding equipment, including handling molds, setting parameters, and monitoring cycle times to ensure optimal product quality. Use hand tools and fabrication equipment such as press brake machines, CNC lathes, CNC machines, and basic measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers for part fabrication and finishing. Conduct quality inspections throughout the manufacturing process using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and surface finishes. Handle materials safely using forklifts and materials handling techniques to move raw materials and finished products efficiently within the warehouse. Assemble kayaks by following detailed instructions, ensuring proper fit, finish, and safety standards are met during each step of the process. Maintain a clean, organized work area adhering to lean manufacturing principles to maximize efficiency and safety. Assist in troubleshooting machinery issues related to plastics blow molding, plastics extrusion, or plastics injection molding processes to minimize downtime. Requirements Prior experience with manufacturing processes such as plastics blow molding, extrusion, or injection molding is highly desirable. Mechanical knowledge combined with experience operating press brake machines, CNC lathes, CNC machines, or other fabrication tools is preferred. Ability to use hand tools accurately for assembly and finishing tasks. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and forklift operation is a plus. Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments. Basic math skills necessary for measurements and process adjustments. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and warehouse experience will be advantageous.
