Royalton Road Crew Member

Position Function:

This position performs skilled duties in the construction and maintenance of town roads as part of a highway crew under the general supervision of the Road Foreman.

Road Crew Member Duties:

1. Drive light and heavy trucks and other equipment as required to perform road maintenance operations including plowing, sanding and salting operations in the winter 2. Operate front end loader, backhoe, grader and roadside mower 3. Perform manual road maintenance work as necessary, such as clearing brush, cutting and loading trees, installing road signs and cleaning culverts 4. Perform routine and preventative vehicle maintenance and repair 5. Operate equipment while following safety procedures 6. Work on nights and weekends as required 7. May perform training of other personnel 8. Perform any other takes deemed necessary for town operations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. High school graduate (or equivalent) with at least one year of experience in working within a municipal highway department 2. Must be able to lift 50lbs., bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit and/or walk 3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 4. Live locally, and be available for nights, weekends and/or daytime call outs 5. Welding and mechanical abilities preferred 6. Pass a background check as well as routine drug tests 7. Maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) The Town of Royalton offers excellent benefits, including health and dental insurance, as well as a retirement plan. $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
