Job Description

Category Respiratory - Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Type Contract Advance your career as a Registered Respiratory Therapist by providing specialized neonatal care in a Level 2 Special Care Nursery. Healthcare professionals in this contract position will deliver essential respiratory therapy to newborns, utilizing advanced techniques and equipment to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
Schedule/Hours:
Full-time hours; specific schedule details will be provided during the interview process.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred Proficiency with neonatal respiratory interventions Experience with patient education on aerosol, MDI, and DPI therapy Familiarity with Bar Coding Medication Administration and medication cart systems (Omnicell) Skilled in blood gas sampling, analysis, and interpretation Demonstrated expertise in ventilatory support and suctioning Ability to assist with intubation and high-risk deliveries Strong clinical judgment and collaborative skills Commitment to accurate documentation and patient safety
Responsibilities:
Deliver Medicated Aerosol Therapy, including use of small volume nebulizers Educate caregivers and staff on inhaled medication techniques and equipment Utilize DPI, MDI, holding chambers, and coordinate with medication dispensing systems Perform suctioning, manual ventilation, and assist with intubations Manage assisted and T-piece ventilation, surfactant administration, and high-risk neonatal procedures Interpret and manage blood gas procedures Oversee humidified therapies and ensure appropriate use of nasal cannula, oxygen masks, and aerosol masks Adhere to facility protocols and contribute to the care of high-acuity infants This opportunity offers a rewarding experience in a specialized care environment.
