Job Description:

Our vision for ministry is to show, share and live the love of Christ. To do this we need a strong spiritual leader and learning environment. Our desire is to share the love of Christ with the congregation, community and worldwide ministries of all ages. It is our wish to reach out to young families looking for a place to raise their children in Christ's love.

Pastor duties will include:

Serve as worship leader, Sundays and special occasions. Perform home vitiations and worship services for health center residents. Perform special services for weddings, baptisms, confirmation, new member classes, and funerals. Act as the liaison between congregation and Yellowstone Presbytery and PCUSA. Equip lay people to carry out Christian education programs. Ensure that the vision of the Community Presbyterian Church remains Christ centered. Have a presence in our community and meet the local people outside the congregation. Help create an atmosphere that will draw young adults and children to our church. Bring structure and routine back to our church. Help build a close sense of family within our congregation. We are seeking a leader who embodies the following qualities, grouped to highlight the key attributes that will help our church flourish:

Spiritual Leadership:

Someone with a deep understanding of the Bible who preaches faithfully from it, inspiring us to live out Christ's teachings. This leader will empower and equip us to be devoted members of Christ's body, guiding us to grow in faith and unity.

Personal Attributes:

We hope for an individual who is outgoing, full of life, and radiates God's love. This person listens attentively to members' concerns and responds with compassion and understanding, serving as a positive example in everyday life. Patience, kindness, and a genuine care for others are essential.

Community Engagement:

Our ideal leader will have strong social and communication skills, enabling them to integrate seamlessly into our close-knit rural community. For example, they might participate in local events, share their faith openly, and build connections with those both inside and outside the congregation. We value someone creative and resourceful, who embraces the unique challenges and opportunities of our setting. Through these qualities, our leader will uplift, encourage, and unite us•helping our church family thrive and making a meaningful difference in our community.

About Community Presbyterian Church:

God has given us the dream of a pastor who will live among us, become part of the church family and our community. We've been without a minister for several years. The elders fill the pulpit and provide Christian education in the form of Bible study, Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. The church provides a 3-bedroom manse in a quiet neighborhood. This is great place to raise a family or for retirement. We are a rural agricultural community in remote Eastern Montana. Our town population of 350 and county population of 1200. Due to our remoteness, we are self-sufficient with a rural hospital, grocery store, hardware store, local bank, clinic, nursing home, K-12 schools, restaurant, motels, post office, and coffee shops. We are a close-knit community where we know no strangers. Our region provides opportunities for outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing, hiking and camping. We are one hour south of Hell Creek recreation area on Fort Peck Lake.

Job Qualifications:

Solo pastor installed, no experience to experience, bi-vocational will be considered.
