Director of Safety and SecurityJOB SUMMARY
To assist in the security and protection of students, staff, and property and to ensure the safety and security of the buildings when they are unoccupied.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Patrols district buildings and grounds to prevent theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Conducts patrol inspections of doors, windows and gates to determine that they are secure. Confronts unauthorized persons for questioning, routes or detains them, or calls police for assistance according to emergency action plan. Sounds fire alarm to alert fire department and school personnel in event of fire and assists in extinguishing fire. Answers alarms after buildings are closed. Patrols school grounds to detect unauthorized persons or vehicles, and to check exterior lighting and emergency access routes. Makes written reports of security violations. Escorts High School League officiating crew to and from athletic events. Directs traffic at school sites for safe crossing of students to the schools. Supervises crowd control at sporting events. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the District Office. Conducts residence verification for schools when requested.EVALUATION
There will be a written evaluation every three years, at a minimum, based on the successful performance of responsibilities.
