Job Description

Summary Plans, directs, and implements the organization's safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties personally or through supervisors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Self-starter with leadership capabilities. o Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and implementation of safety programs in a manufactured housing facility.
  • Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials.
  • Prepares analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.
  • Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.
  • Aids in the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of findings and recommendations for reoccurrence.
  • Compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Assists in the administration of the workers' compensation program.
  • Prepares and arranges safety exhibits and materials for display, promotional work, industry conferences, and exhibitions as needed.
  • Represents the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs.
  • Maintains safety files and records, both written and on the computer.
  • Ability to speak in front of groups and present training.
  • Basic computer skills pertaining to job function.
  • Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with senior leadership team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees, and vendors.
  • Personal integrity and able to perform all job responsibilities in an ethical and non- discriminatory manner.
  • Ability to retain confidential information.
  • Problem-solving and reasoning. Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and can effectively communicate with all levels within the organization, customers, and corporate officials.
  • Determination and assertiveness to accomplish goals and objectives.
