Job Description

Riggs Industries is seeking a Safety Coordinator who will plan, direct, and implement organization safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Other duties may be assigned. Performs OSHA record keeping maintain 300 logs. Complete 301 incident reportpost 300A summary of work-related injuries and illnesses. Conducts weekly toolbox meetings. Assists in the production of OSHA written programs, administers, and performs training such as bloodborne pathogen exposure, confined space entry initially upon hire, and annually thereafter. Assists/performs crane inspectionstraining. Administers new hire and annual or required refresher training for topics such as: emergency planning and response, fall protection, fire extinguisher, hearing conservation, lockout / tag out, personal protective equipment, respiratory protectionannual fit test. Coordinates with outside provider for annualrefresher training for riggingforklift safety. Maintains the hazard communication program and performs training when necessary. Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials. Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented. Conducts accident investigationsproduces reports. Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions. Education and/or
Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university in safety management preferred; or one to two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is desired.
