Job Title:
Safety Consultant Job Description We are seeking a talented and experienced Safety Consultant for an exciting opportunity in Clay, NY. This role involves supporting all safety efforts on a significant construction project, promoting a strong safety culture, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. This position requires travel, and we are open to candidates located within the Northeast or those willing to relocate. Responsibilities Support all safety efforts on the project and promote a strong safety culture. Ensure contractor activities are preplanned for safety through scope review, preconstruction meetings, JHA review, and STAs. Ensure contractors meet safety submittal requirements and comply with safety plans and expectations. Maintain all safety-related documentation. Make recommendations concerning hazardous situations affecting employee safety or health. Utilize SafetyNet to audit and monitor project team implementation of the Safety Plan. Perform at least 15 SafetyNet inspections per month with a minimum of 100 observations per inspection. Provide and analyze SafetyNet trending reports with project teams and develop action plans. Coach project teams in effective hazard identification and issue correction using SafetyNet. Investigate all accidents/near misses and complete necessary paperwork. Ensure project teams have the necessary safety equipment and resources. Serve as project liaison and manage project correspondence with insurance carriers. Provide safety training to project teams on company, client, and OSHA requirements. Train direct reports on processes, procedures, and completion of daily tasks. Manage workload and performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with overall company standards. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members. Aid in communicating company and department strategy to direct reports. Collaborate closely with business development to ensure seamless integration with sales strategies, including performance metrics on assigned projects, pursuits, and client deliverables. Actively participate in opportunities to strengthen client, partner, and industry relationships. Essential Skills 4-6 years of construction safety management experience. Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety Management or Engineering preferred. BCSP, CHST, or other related certification credentials. Certified and authorized instructor by GU and OSHA to teach safety courses. Comprehensive knowledge of construction safety and health principles, techniques, methods, regulations, and interpretations. Strong computer skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Developing management and leadership skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in civil, trenching, earthwork, and big building projects. Ability to identify current and future potential exposures and recommend corrective action. Work Environment This role is based onsite in Clay, NY, specifically at the Micron site located at White Pine Commerce Park. The work environment involves significant civil work, including excavation, concrete, and underground utilities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clay, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $65.00/hr.
