Job Description

Job Summary The Safety Coordinator / Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing safety operations on utility-scale construction projects, with a primary focus on solar and electrical infrastructure. This role supports onsite leadership, ensures OSHA compliance, and proactively identifies and mitigates workplace hazards to promote a safe and compliant work environment Key Responsibilities Provide safety oversight for utility-scale construction projects, ensuring adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety standards Support onsite management teams, including foremen and EPC construction crews, in implementing safety procedures Conduct daily coordination meetings with the Safety Manager and field leadership to review planned work activities and identify potential hazards Review and support Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to ensure risks are identified and mitigated prior to execution Perform routine site audits, inspections, and field observations to ensure compliance with safety protocols and PPE requirements Conduct regular field walkthroughs to monitor crew activities and reinforce safe work practices Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses; manage all administrative documentation related to workplace injuries Communicate safety expectations clearly and escalate or document disciplinary actions when necessary Support safety training efforts including orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety communication initiatives Partner with construction leadership to promote a proactive safety culture across all project phases Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of construction safety experience , preferably in solar or utility-scale projects OSHA 30 Certification required
OSHA 500
preferred Experience working with low and medium voltage electrical systems Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, safety procedures, and hazard mitigation practices Experience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred Core Skills Construction Safety Management OSHA Compliance (30 / 500 preferred) Hazard Identification & Risk Mitigation Field Safety Audits & Inspections Incident Investigation & Reporting Safety Training & Communication PPE Compliance Enforcement Experience Level Intermediate Level (3+ years relevant experience) Work Environment Primarily field-based role on active construction sites Requires frequent walking, site inspections, and interaction with field personnel Exposure to outdoor conditions and active construction environments Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lost Hills, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
