Job Description

Project-Based | Deployment Required (Up to 8 Weeks Onsite) Position Summary The Safety Officer is responsible for providing on-site safety leadership. This role oversees Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), daily safety briefings, development and execution of Safety Plans, and remediation of identified hazards. The Safety Officer ensures compliance with applicable regulatory and client requirements while supporting safe, continuous operations in remote and high-visibility settings. This position requires prior experience in deployed, austere, or industrial field environments (oilfield, defense contracting, emergency response, or similar) and the ability to deploy for extended periods with limited notice. Key Responsibilities Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and support risk assessments for all operational activities. Lead daily and situational safety briefings; communicate hazards and mitigation steps clearly to all staff. Develop, update, and execute project-specific Safety Plans; ensure alignment with client requirements and CRS standards. Identify unsafe conditions or practices, implement corrective actions, and track remediation until resolved. Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with
OSHA, EM
385-1-1, and other applicable safety frameworks. Conduct incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and prepare required reports. Support safety training, field orientations, and reinforcement of a positive safety culture. Maintain accurate safety logs, inspection checklists, reports, and documentation required by the project and client. Serve as the primary safety point of contact during deployments, audits, inspections, or emergency responses. Required Qualifications 5+ years of safety experience in remote, industrial, or high-risk environments (oil & gas, DOD support, field construction, disaster response, etc.). Demonstrated experience conducting JHAs, running safety briefings, and managing site remediation activities. Ability to interpret and apply OSHA standards and client-driven safety requirements. Strong communication and leadership skills; effective in high-stress or rapidly evolving environments. Ability to work extended hours in remote or austere locations. Proficient with safety reporting tools, documentation, and incident tracking. Must be able to pass background checks, drug screen and any client-specific security requirements. Deployment Requirements Willing to deploy for up to 8 weeks at a time with scheduled R&R rotations. Geographic flexibility — assignments may vary based on operational demand. Ability to operate in remote, secure, or restricted environments, including potential 24/7 operational settings. Physically able to meet environmental demands of the deployment location.
