Job Description
The Safety Operations Associate supports daily safety execution within the facility by reinforcing safe work practices, assisting with audits and training, and helping drive continuous improvement in workplace safety. This role partners closely with production teams to ensure safety standards are consistently applied and maintained across all shifts. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Daily Safety Execution Support enforcement of safety policies, procedures, and GMP/EHS standards on the production floor Conduct routine safety observations and report unsafe conditions or behaviors Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment Audits & Inspections Perform daily and weekly safety audits using standardized checklists Participating in leadership safety walkthroughs Track findings and follow up on corrective actions to closure Incident Prevention & Response Assist with incident reporting and preliminary investigations Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions Monitor high-risk areas and ensure controls are in place and followed Training & Communication Reinforce safety training on the floor, including PPE usage and safe work practices Support onboarding safety training for new hires Communicate safety updates, alerts, and best practices to team members Data Tracking & Reporting Help maintain safety logs, audit records, and compliance documentation Track key metrics such as audit findings, and training completion Escalate recurring issues or trends to EHS leadership Continuous Improvement Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems. Support implementation of safety initiatives and programs Promote a culture of safety, ownership and accountability across teams Qualifications / Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent At least 2 years of safety experience required in manufacturing, warehouse, or operations environment Training certifications in safety and security preferred Strong attention to detail and observational skills Preferred Experience in food manufacturing or regulated environment Knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), GMP, or EHS standards Prior involvement in safety programs or committees Skills & Competencies Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software Bilingual (Spanish) Ability to influence and engage frontline employees Problem-solving and critical thinking Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment Physical Demands Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct safety inspections. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. as needed Willingness to work in varying temperatures (production, refrigeration, freezer)
