Job Description

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Safety & Personnel Coordinator to join our team. This position helps ensure a safe work environment while maintaining accurate employee records, regulatory compliance, and workforce communication across field and office operations. Assist with OSHA compliance, safety training, employee onboarding, recruiting coordination, and workforce compliance across field and office operations. Essential Duties Safety Coordination Conduct routine job site safety inspections for excavation, grading, utility, roadway, concrete, and heavy equipment operations Assist with implementing and enforcing company safety policies and procedures Monitor compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety requirements Coordinate and conduct new hire safety orientation for field employees Assist with toolbox talks, weekly safety meetings, and ongoing safety training Monitor proper use of PPE and safe operation of heavy equipment and tools Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), trench safety, confined space, and traffic control planning Investigate incidents, injuries, vehicle accidents, and near misses Maintain OSHA logs, training records, inspection reports, and safety documentation Coordinate corrective actions from safety inspections and audits Assist with workers' compensation claims and return-to-work processes Support drug testing, fleet safety, and driver qualification compliance Promote a proactive safety culture across all field operations Support claims documentation and incident reporting processes Assist with pre-qualification packages and contractor compliance submissions Personnel / Human Resources Coordination Assist with onboarding of field and office employees Coordinate background checks, drug screenings, and motor vehicle record checks Maintain employee files, certifications, licenses, and training records Track CDL requirements, DOT medical cards, and equipment certifications Assist employees with benefits enrollment and HR-related questions Assist with employee relations, disciplinary documentation, and policy administration Help ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and employment regulations Coordinate employee meetings, communications, and company events Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Associate degree or bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Human Resources, Construction Management, or related field preferred Experience in civil construction, heavy highway, utilities, excavation, or infrastructure projects preferred OSHA 10 CPR/First Aid (Preferred) Flagger Certification (Preferred) DOT compliance knowledge
Pay:
$45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
