Job Title:
Onsite Safety Manager / Safety Representative for Mechanical Contractor onsite Large Pharmaceutical Construction Project in Tarrytown, NY Per Diem offered if applicable at $150, 7 days a week 2-3 year long project Job Description The Safety Manager / Safety Representative develops, implements, and maintains comprehensive safety programs to ensure a safe work environment for employees, subcontractors, and the public. This role focuses on industrial electrical construction projects and ensures strict compliance with OSHA and internal safety standards through proactive oversight, training, and collaboration with project teams and stakeholders. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and enforce company safety policies and procedures across industrial electrical construction projects. Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, and local safety regulations on all assigned sites. Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and verify adherence to safety requirements. Lead safety orientations for new hires and deliver ongoing safety training for field personnel. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions. Prepare, maintain, and organize safety documentation, reports, and records in a timely and accurate manner. Support project teams by performing job hazard analyses and developing site-specific safety plans. Serve as a safety resource and advisor to field supervisors, project managers, and leadership. Coordinate safety-related activities and communication with clients, general contractors, and regulatory agencies as needed. Travel to project sites to provide on-site safety support, oversight, and coaching. Essential Skills Demonstrated experience in construction safety, preferably within industrial or electrical construction environments. Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and their application on construction sites. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both field and office personnel. Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain detailed safety documentation, reports, and records. Ability to travel to project sites as required. Proven safety experience in construction or industrial projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications OSHA 500 or equivalent safety training certification. CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician), CSP (Certified Safety Professional), or similar safety certifications. Experience supporting safety programs in construction, industrial, or pharmaceutical-related environments. OSHA 30-hour training completion. Background in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs. Work Environment This role supports industrial mechanical construction projects and involves regular visits to active job sites. The Safety Manager / Safety Representative works closely with field personnel, supervisors, and project managers in both office and field settings. The position requires travel to various project locations and frequent presence on construction sites where conditions may include noise, varying weather, and active equipment. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided, and adherence to site-specific safety procedures and dress expectations is essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Tarrytown, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
