Safety Spotter / Laborer

Avenal Landfill, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Safety Spotter / Laborer to join our team in Avenal, CA! This is a full time, long term position with a reputable company. The schedule will be Monday-Friday 4:30am-2pm with some overtime. The pay range for this position is $19-22/hour.

Responsibilities Include:

Guiding customers to different areas of landfill Spotting/directing trucks Inspecting loads Paying attention to "hot zones" to ensure the safety of all customers and employees Traffic management - moving signs and cones Ensuring that all customers are wearing proper PPE General site cleanup Performing other assigned duties at the landfill as needed

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. Ability to safely climb on and off of heavy equipment in order to operate, clean and inspect.

Requirements:

At least 2 years of work experience.
