POSITION OVERVIEW
The Safety Technician supports the Safety Manager by assisting in the implementation and enforcement of safety programs across all departments job sites. This role involves training, conducting safety audits, inspections, identifying potential hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and providing on-site safety guidance to employees. The Safety Technician plays a key role in promoting a culture of safety by reinforcing policies, assisting with training, responding to incidents and assisting in incident investigations as needed.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct routine site safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. Evaluate field safety conditions through multiple sites and correct any unsafe conditions. Report unsafe conditions or practices to the Safety Manager and assist in implementing corrective measures. Conducts daily morning safety meetings at various job sites. Assist the Safety Manager in implementing and enforcing company safety policies and procedures Maintain, control and inventory PPE and equipment. Monitor workers' use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols Assist in safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and orientation programs Maintain safety records, reports, and compliance documentation Administer field tests to employees (i.e., aerial work platform, forklifts) Ensures that regulated tools and equipment are currently inspected and in good order. Distributes and maintains quarterly company equipment inspections. Documents daily safety report, site audits, JSA audits, etc. Assist Safety Manager with accident/incident/ near miss investigations by collecting data, interviewing personnel, and documenting findings. Assist in emergency response situations and first aid efforts as needed
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Assign and prioritize tasks based on team capabilities and project requirements. Provide hands-on guidance and mentorship to team members. Monitor individual and team performance, offering constructive feedback. Ensure feedback is being shared with management Ensure adherence to quality standards and project timelines. Foster a collaborative and positive team environment. Serve as the primary point of contact for team-related issues. Communicate essential information to employees and management Review and approve time daily and timecards weekly or by deadlines for accuracy

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma/GED or equivalent Must have legal authorization to work in the United States of America or other countries as may be required. Must pass a drug/alcohol screen upon offer of employment. Clean DMV record & must have a Valid Driver's License. May be required to pass a physical abilities test/post offer screen for employment 1-3 years of experience in construction safety, site supervision, or a related field Basic understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of email, spreadsheet software, word processing software and presentation software Ability to recognize and correct safety-related hazards and targeted safety trends. Ability to effectively communicate safety policies to workers at all levels Strong observational and problem-solving skills Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to read and interpret documents such as Company safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Additional safety certifications (e.g., First Aid/CPR, Aerial work platforms, OSHA 30) are a plus Must be available to work varied days and times to accommodate and observe all plant schedules

Walking and Standing
  • Frequently moving around job sites, inspecting work, and overseeing installations. Climbing and Balancing
  • Occasionally using ladders, scaffolding, or lifts to inspect elevated electrical work. Lifting and Carrying
  • Lifting materials, plans, or equipment, typically up to 25-50 lbs., though less frequent than field electricians. Crouching and Kneeling
  • Occasionally working in tight spaces to inspect electrical installations. Repetitive Movements
  • Engaging in repetitive motions such as writing, typing, or using hand tools for minor adjustments or inspections. Working in Various Positions
  • Reaching, bending, or holding positions for short durations while reviewing electrical work. Exposure to Weather
  • Spending time outdoors at construction sites in varying conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or wind. Hand and Finger Dexterity
  • Handling documents, using computers, and occasionally working with electrical components or tools.

$29.70
