At J & J Gaming Factory, we're a locally owned game store focused on delivering great service, expert knowledge, and a strong sense of community. Our goal is to create a welcoming, engaging space where people can connect through their love of gaming. We sell board games, trading cards (except Yu-Gi-Oh), miniatures, paints, Warhammer, pop culture items, hobby supplies, and more. We also run 3 to 4 events every day. We're looking for an upbeat, fast-working, reliable, detail-oriented, customer-focused team member who enjoys running events, helping customers find the right products, and contributing to the overall store experience and vibe. Ideal candidates are strong communicators who thrive in a fast-paced environment, contribute positively to a team by staying organized and not creating extra work for others, and can work independently while properly prioritizing responsibilities in line with the mission and values of J & J Gaming Factory.Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to grow with us for the future. Candidates must be 18 or over. This position should be seen as an opportunity to help lead growth initiatives and sales, organize events, drive e-commerce and local sales, contributing to our social media, and helping fulfill other responsibilities for the business to grow. The individual who is most qualified for this position will be ready to put in hard work, have great people skills, constantly look for improvement within the company and themselves, and believe in our mission to create the best game store for players everywhere. Someone with some experience and a flexible schedule is preferred.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Welcome and greet every customer, asking what their needs are, and informing them of promotions and sales associated with their needs. Maintain an upbeat and fun experience for customers. (having the choose their own packs, playing upbeat music, meeting them with an upbeat attitude and positive energy). Provide product information to customers; recommend age and skill-appropriate games and accessories to customers. Be able to give short and fast blurbs about specific games or demos after training on them, offer learn to play scheduled dates or free supplies. Operate the cash register, be able to make correct change, process credit card payments with Point-of-Sale (POS) system; offering receipts via email or text; and balance register at end of shift. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer phone calls promptly, courteously, and professionally with the J and J Gaming Factory Name; escalate customer issues and complaints to the appropriate supervisor in a timely and professional manner. Ensure that all items in the store are stocked at all times, are faced, priced, organized, and presentable. Verify that the Bathroom is presentable at all times and is stocked with necessities. Assist the store in maximizing sales by focusing on key current business initiatives, store presentation, inventory management, customer service, customer acquisition, and loss prevention techniques. Update inventory in the system to ensure that online inventory is correct for online sales to occur without error. Package orders for online sales. Social media content making and posting, taking photos of events and new products, possibly uploading, and creating posts with text. E-commerce duties, including but not limited to: packing orders, pulling in-store pick ups, organizing warehouse inventory, modifying products, and more. Attention to detail is critical in this role, just like following instructions carefully, just like what I'm going to request you to do here. Provide support for in-store, convention, and community events when necessary - some traveling for conventions may be required. Other duties as assigned by management.QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Must present proof of ability to legally work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. Previous retail or guest service experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Trading card game and board game knowledge preferred. Some travel required. Ability to stand for long periods. Social stamina to greet customers in a friendly manner throughout the day. Background checks will be run.KEY JOB SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Be punctual, and reliable, with a strong attention to detail. Have some flexibility in availability. Ability to work independently and within a team to perform all tasks as assigned. Ability to work in a busy environment and manage multiple work responsibilities simultaneously. Computer skills, including email, MS Word, MS Excel, Google Docs, experience with printers. Ability to stand for long periods; Bend, stoop, crouch, balance, stretch, reach with arms/hands, climb on ladders, lift merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs. from ground level to a minimum height of 4 feet, and utilize other basic fine and gross motor skills. Stand and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 8 hours per day. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer phone calls promptly, courteously, and professionally.Social media experience:
Posting, sharing, and responding to comments. Bring any concerns to the owners' attention promptly; suggest any changes that would facilitate the customer's experience. Communicate tasks that need to be finished at the end of shifts, communicate concerns and needs. Protect company assets through effective inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness, product placement policies, and best safety practices. Consistently adhere to J and J Gaming Factory's policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, trades, sales, teaching, communication, and code of conduct. Adhere to all opening and closing procedures.Job Type:
