The Role The Account Director will be responsible for owning, growing, and deepening LeanPie's relationships with key retail clients in the Atlanta and Nashville markets. This role is focused on strategic account management, revenue growth, and client partnership development rather than broad new client acquisition. Success in this role is defined by the ability to identify opportunities, build trusted relationships, uncover new business within existing accounts, and position LeanPie as a valued strategic partner. The Account Director will serve as the primary client advocate within LeanPie while collaborating with design, engineering, sourcing, and operations teams to deliver exceptional client outcomes. You will build relationships across merchandising, store operations, marketing, procurement, and executive leadership teams while helping clients solve challenges through innovative retail display and fixture solutions. This role requires a strong retail or shopper marketing background, exceptional relationship-building skills, and a commitment to maintaining a regular presence at client headquarters. Key Responsibilities
  • Own and lead relationships with key retail clients and stakeholders.
  • Identify, qualify, and develop new opportunities within existing accounts, including opportunities with brand partners selling through the retailer.
  • Develop and execute strategic account growth plans that drive revenue expansion and long-term partnership value.
  • Position LeanPie as a responsive, innovative, and trusted partner known for creativity, quality, and execution.
  • Lead client discussions from initial opportunity identification through project launch, partnering with internal teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with LeanPie leadership to align account strategy, priorities, and growth objectives.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, opportunity tracking, and account planning within company systems.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with clients and internal stakeholders to evaluate performance and identify future opportunities.
  • Ensure all account and program information is maintained accurately and consistently.
  • Travel as needed for client meetings, presentations, and strategic planning sessions. What Success Looks Like

  • Internal teams view you as a strong advocate for the client while effectively balancing business objectives. Ideal Candidate ProfileRequired Qualifications
  • Proven experience in account management, business development, sales, client services, or shopper marketing.
  • Experience managing strategic retail accounts or large customer relationships.
  • Strong understanding of big-box retail environments.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong commercial mindset with a demonstrated ability to identify and grow business opportunities.
  • Highly proactive, organized, and comfortable operating independently.
  • Positive attitude, collaborative mindset, and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Willing and able to maintain a consistent presence at client headquarters and travel as needed. Preferred Qualifications
