Our client, a Top 50 Employee Benefits Broker, has a need for an experienced Employee Benefits Account Manager professional to join their team. This client-facing role is responsible for managing and servicing a complex portfolio of employee benefits accounts, providing strategic consulting, and delivering exceptional client servicing. The Account Executive will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them navigate benefit strategies, compliance requirements, and market trends while collaborating with internal service teams and carrier partners. Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary strategic contact for a portfolio of middle-market and large-group employee benefits clients. Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships through proactive communication and consultative service. Lead annual stewardship and renewal meetings, presenting market conditions, program recommendations, and cost-containment strategies. Understand clients' business objectives, workforce demographics, and risk tolerance to develop customized benefits solutions. Advise clients on funding strategies, including fully insured, level-funded, and self-funded arrangements. Provide guidance on emerging benefits trends and innovative solutions to improve employee engagement and retention. Develop multi-year benefits strategies that align with clients' financial and human capital objectives. Lead the annual renewal process from strategy development through implementation. Coordinate with marketing teams and carrier partners to negotiate competitive coverage terms and pricing. Analyze carrier proposals and prepare client presentations and recommendations. Identify opportunities to improve plan design, reduce costs, and enhance overall program value. In depth understanding of employee benefit regulations including
ACA, ERISA, COBRA, 5500
filings, HIPAA, etc.
Qualifications:
Life, Accident, and Health Insurance License. Ability to go into office 3x a week. Minimum of five (5) years of employee benefits brokerage or consulting experience. Experience managing middle-market and/or large-group employee benefits clients. Strong understanding of employee benefits products, funding arrangements, and market dynamics. Experience leading client presentations and renewal strategy discussions.
