Job Description

J ob Summary The Student Accounts Specialist is an integral part of the business office team. The incumbent will assist students with understanding their tuition and fees accounts and in making payment arrangements for account balances. The incumbent will also collaborate with other departments to ensure effective customer service to students, faculty, and staff. Job Duties Assists students with understanding their tuition and fees accounts by assessing student needs and assisting students in making payment arrangements for account balances. Acts as primary point of contact for students in accurately recording tuition payments to student accounts and recording college revenues to the general ledger. Process deposits for university departments; prepares and verifies cash and check totals for daily bank deposits. Provides excellent customer service to students, staff, external organizations, and the public. Ensures compliance in accordance with federal state regulations and college polices along with standard accounting procedures. Serves as liaison between the Business Office and other departments to include Financial Aid, Admissions and Housing Maintains and creates documentation of all current and new AR policies and procedures. Researches and resolves discrepancies and/or disputes related to student accounts.
