The primary mission of the sales territory manager is to increase sales and profitability while building lasting partnerships with customers. The territory manager ensures current customers have the right products and services, identify new markets and customer leads, and pitch prospective customers. Role and Responsibilities Generate leads through cold calling, email outreach, social media, digital marketing, and other prospecting methods. Build and maintain relationships with customers founded on trust, respect, and consistent follow‑up. Achieve sales targets by meeting or exceeding individual and team quotas. Negotiate contracts and finalize terms with prospective clients to secure profitable agreements. Support pricing strategy by helping determine quote structures, promotional pricing, and negotiation parameters. Deliver sales presentations tailored to diverse audiences and decision‑maker levels. Communicate with customers to understand their needs and explain product value. Collaborating with vendors and internal partners to facilitate customers' needs are satisfied. Collecting and analyzing data to learn more about consumer behavior. Keeping accurate records pertaining to product and account notes. Maintaining updated knowledge of vendor products and services. Resolving complaints and preventing additional issues by improving processes. Identifying industry trends. Acting as a customer advocate with a focus on improving the buyer experience. Keep current with all new product developments and routinely trains on key products within our vendor linesProven success in outside sales or B2B sales roles, preferably within medical or pharmaceutical sectors. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence decision-makers at various organizational levels. Demonstrated experience in account management and developing long-term client relationships. Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—to effectively deliver product demos and technical information. Proficiency in analysis skills for assessing market data, sales metrics, and customer needs. Qualifications and Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in sales, industrial design, Engineering or related field. More education or experience may be preferred. Technically proficient in the process control industry Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collect, track, and analyze large amounts of data. Adaptability and strong problem-solving skills. Excellent active listening skills. Ability to build rapport and collaborate with others within the company and externally. Understanding of consumer behaviors and industry trends.
Experience:
3-7+ years of B2B outside sales experience, preferably in industrial, manufacturing or process control environments (Preferred) Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quota (Preferred) Demonstrated experience managing a geographic territory and meeting sales targets (Preferred) Experience selling technical or engineered products such as process control systems, instrumentation, automation, or industrial equipment (Preferred) History of growing existing accounts while actively developing new business opportunities (Preferred) Experience with Wisconsin or Midwest industrial markets preferred (Preferred) Experience selling technical or engineered products (e.g., automation, instrumentation, process control systems) (Preferred) Experience working alongside engineering or technical teams to deliver solutions ((Preferred) Proficient at: Adobe Acrobat, Excel, Word, Microsoft Office, Outlook & Teams, AutoCad, Powerpoint, QuickBooks (quoting)
