That success is due in large part to the dedicated people-from drivers to office administrators-who deliver those services faithfully every day, year after year. Job Summary The Account Manager role is vital to our company's image in professionalism and excellence; and is crucial to our long-term success in the solid waste and recycling industry. Working as a member of our sales team, you will be a valued team member creating and maintaining long-term business relationships with new and existing customers. Approximately of your day will be working in the field as you travel throughout your territory, making cold calls, retention calls, visiting job sites / trailers, setting appointments, and following up on existing customer requests. The focus of this position is to solicit, grow, and maintain waste and recycling services to commercial, industrial, and temporary roll off customers throughout the Indiana region. This sales position will have a hybrid sales focus between permanent commercial work and temporary roll off dumpsters (construction sites). It will allow the employee to experience sales from a few different lines of business with a goal of receiving everything NEW that is built in this area. From delivering the 30yd roll off dumpster at the groundbreaking of the new construction site, to delivering the 8yd container for permanent weekly service, this position has the unique opportunity to cover it all, from start to finish! The sales department serves our commercial and industrial sectors by providing professional and timely customer service. As one of the largest full-service waste and recycling companies in the South Chicago and Northwest Indiana marketplace, we plan on continued growth in this region. The selected candidate must be detail oriented, self-motivated, outgoing and demonstrates the desire to become an active member of our Homewood Disposal team! Essential Duties and Responsibilities Identify and submit proposals to new commercial and industrial accounts as well as general contractors Perform site inspections and surveys Complete daily paperwork accurately and efficiently Develop and sustain customer relationships Handle e-mail correspondence to customers with a consistent and professional tone Listen to and resolve customer questions and concerns Assist with special projects as needed Routinely visit construction trailers / construction sites Navigate Lead Manager to seek out any new commercial construction in the area Qualifications Education and Experience 4-year college degree or 2+ years of relevant work experience Requirements Excellent communication skills and a great customer service attitude A knowledge of local locations, towns, and directions Excel in working as a member of a team Ability to follow through on assigned tasks and achieve sales activity goals Self-motivated, outgoing, positive, pleasant personality Reliable Form of Transportation Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required Proficiency with Email and Microsoft Office as well as a willingness to learn new software
