The New Accounts Representative is the first point of contact for new and prospective bank customers. This role is responsible for opening and servicing new deposit accounts, including checking, savings, and CDs, while ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements. The representative also educates customers on banking products and services, promotes digital tools, and provides exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities & Expectations:
Adhere to bank policies and procedures to minimize losses. Greet customers warmly and professionally upon arrival and on the phone. Actively Identify customer needs, cross-sell & recommend appropriate banking products. Open and process new accounts (checking, savings, CDs, IRAs, etc.) accurately and efficiently. Verify customer identity and documentation. Explain bank products, services, interest rates, and fees to customers. Assist customers with account services such as online/mobile banking, ordering checks and debit/ATM cards. Cross-sell bank products and services based on customer needs. Maintain accurate records and update customer information in the bank's systems. Resolve customer inquiries and escalate complex issues as needed. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Participate in training and stay updated on product offerings and regulatory changes Respond to inquiries regarding accounts and bank products or refer them to the appropriate team member. Attempt to resolve customer account issues or escalate as needed. Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in all transactions. Uphold confidentiality and security protocols to protect customers and bank assets. Identify fraudulent activity. Exhibit adaptability and teamwork in a dynamic banking environment. Engage in open communication with supervisors and colleagues. Foster a respectful environment and refrain from behavior that disrupts team cohesion. Identify opportunities to cross-sell bank products and services when appropriate. Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications & Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-task environment. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Willingness to participate in job-related continuing education. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds. Visual acuity requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
