The Role We're hiring a Client Manager to independently own a book of clients across tax compliance, accounting, and advisory work. You'll be the day-to-day relationship lead for the clients you manage — preparing their returns, maintaining their books, handling their payroll and sales tax filings, running tax projections, and being the trusted point of contact when they have questions. This is a senior-level seat for someone who is genuinely client-ready: technically strong, professionally polished, and able to manage their own deadlines and deliverables without hand-holding. What You'll Do Own a portfolio of individual and business clients as their primary point of contact Prepare individual (1040) and business (1120, 1120-S, 1065) tax returns, including multi-state engagements Maintain client books in QuickBooks Online (and occasionally Desktop) — month-end close, reconciliations, and adjusting entries Run payroll for client engagements, including quarterly filings (941, state withholding, SUTA) and annual
W-2/1099
reporting Prepare and file sales & use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions Build mid-year and year-end tax projections; identify planning opportunities and communicate them to clients clearly Communicate with clients professionally and proactively — by phone, email, and video — to gather information, explain results, and answer questions What We're Looking For 3-4+ years of tax preparation experience in a public accounting setting Demonstrated ability to manage your own clients independently and own the relationship end-to-end Solid working knowledge of individual and entity tax (1040, 1120-S, 1065 at minimum; 1120 a plus) Hands-on experience with bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online, payroll processing Comfort building tax projections and explaining results to clients in plain language Strong Excel skills and comfort with a modern, cloud-based tech stack Detail-oriented, organized, and able to juggle multiple deadlines without losing track EA, CPA, or active progress toward either is a strong plus Professional, warm client communication — clients should want to call you What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience Health Insurance Reimbursement Retirement plan with match PTO and paid holidays CPE and exam support (CPA/EA) Modern tech stack — no paper-pushing here Direct collaboration with the firm's principal and senior team A genuine seat at the table in a growing firm, with clear runway for advancement Work Location:
