Receiving Supervisor Position Summary The Receiving Specialist is responsible for efficiently processing returned rental equipment, including checking in gear, verifying quantities, and inspecting for damage. This role ensures accurate inventory records, proper documentation of discrepancies, and clear communication with project managers and warehouse teams. Works closely with the Receiving Supervisor to maintain organized workflows, uphold quality control standards, and ensure all equipment is correctly labeled, stored, and ready for future use. Key Responsibilities Process rental gear being returned. Spend time checking in rental equipment promptly upon return, verifying quantities, and recording any discrepancies in the system. Conduct thorough inspections of rental gear for damages, documenting any issues and notifying the Project Manager for billing purposes. Collaborate with the Receiving Manager to maintain organized and efficient processes within the receiving department. Assist in reconciling inventory records, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner. Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and other relevant departments regarding the status of returned rental equipment. Ensure that all rental equipment is properly labeled, tagged, and stored in the correct location within the warehouse. Work closely with the Receiving supervisor to implement and enforce quality control procedures for incoming rental gear. Maintain accurate records of received equipment, damages, and any actions taken during the receiving process. Requirements Prior experience in a receiving or inventory management role, preferably in the entertainment or equipment rental industry. Detail-oriented and thorough in conducting inspections and documenting damage or discrepancies. Strong organizational skills to manage the timely check-in and processing of returned rental equipment. Knowledge of inventory management systems and the ability to quickly learn and navigate new software. Physical ability to handle and move equipment, including lifting and carrying moderately heavy items. Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures related to handling equipment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet receiving and inventory management goals. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry objects weighing up to 50-75 lbs. independently and heavier loads with team assistance. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, climb, and reach regularly throughout the workday. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to safely operate tools and equipment. Stamina to perform physical tasks for extended periods, often in fast-paced or time-sensitive environments. Ability to work in varied conditions, including indoor warehouse environments and outdoor job sites, sometimes in inclement weather. Must be able to wear and properly use all required PPE (personal protective equipment), including safety harnesses, helmets, and gloves. Keep staging equipment organized, clean and stored in the proper designated areas. Working Conditions This position is performed in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature fluctuations, frequent exposure to noise, dust, and moving equipment.
