That is intentional. We would rather significantly overpay one exceptional person than fairly pay an average one. The top of this band is not earned by years on a resume. It is earned by being the kind of person clients ask for by name and teammates fight to work with. If that is you, prove it in the process and we will pay for it. The Role Mabbly is a Chicago born digital agency building its first Florida office in Nocatee, and we are hiring the account person who will grow with it. You would work directly with our founder, who lives here too, alongside our Strategy, Brand, Digital, and Product Studios in Chicago. Let's be clear about what this is. We are not looking for someone who has already run a $2M portfolio. We are looking for someone with about 3+ years of agency or client facing experience who is sharp, malleable, and hungry to grow into that person. The Account Director title is the destination, not the starting line. If you have been waiting for a role where someone actually invests in your trajectory instead of handing you a static job description, this is it. A word about who we are right now. Mabbly has been an agency for over a decade, but in the past year we rebuilt ourselves to operate like a startup. We run our entire business on Claude, Claude Cowork, and Notion. We build our own internal AI agents. We automate anything that should not require a human. You will learn account management the way it is going to be practiced for the next decade, not the way it was practiced for the last one.

What You Will DoClient Partnership and Communication Own daily client relationships: build rapport and credibility by deeply understanding each client's business, not just their deliverables. Run client meetings, calls, and status updates with polish, and grow into leading presentations to senior stakeholders. Anticipate client questions before they arise and bring solutions, looping in experts across our studios when needed. Prepare clean agendas, recaps, proposals, and follow up communications that keep projects on track. Execution and Project Ownership Manage planning and execution across digital deliverables: campaigns, web builds, brand work, content. Keep client and internal teams aligned through every stage of the project lifecycle. Ensure projects deliver on time, within scope, and within budget. Work in the weeds. Everyone here does, including the founder. AI Powered Account Operations Use Claude, Claude Cowork, and Notion daily for meeting prep, recaps, reporting, research, and client communications. We will train you. Curiosity is the prerequisite, not prior mastery. Help improve our internal AI agents and workflows. Spot something repetitive? We automate it. You will be part of that. Growth Learn to spot upsell opportunities within your accounts and bring them to leadership. Take on increasing portfolio ownership as you prove it, with a defined path toward Account Director and eventually managing your own team. Communicate account performance and wins to leadership regularly. What Success Looks Like Clients trust you and renew because of you. Projects ship on time and on budget without drama. You are measurably more capable every quarter: bigger accounts, bigger rooms, bigger decisions. Within 18 to 24 months you are operating at Account Director level, because we built you there together.
What We Need In You Experience:
3+ years in client management, account coordination, or project management, ideally in an agency or marketing environment. Digital marketing familiarity strongly preferred.
Communication:
Excellent written and verbal skills, with the instinct to translate technical ideas for non technical audiences.
Coachability:
You seek feedback, absorb it fast, and apply it. This matters more to us than your resume.
Organization:
Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple accounts and moving pieces at once.
AI curiosity:
You are already experimenting with tools like Claude or ChatGPT in your work, or genuinely excited to. Bonus if you can show us something you have automated or built.
Mentality:
A wear many hats attitude. We are a team where no one says "that's not my job." Why This Role Is Different Big agencies will give you a lane and keep you in it for five years.
