Salary:
130-160K/year Hybrid base: 3 days/week at the office A small, privately held U.S. subsidiary of a major Japanese semiconductor packaging manufacturer is seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our growing team in San Diego, California. This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused and self-driven professional who enjoys building strong client relationships, managing complex programs, and working in a highly technical, global business environment. Position Summary The Account Manager will serve as the primary liaison between assigned customers and the company, managing key accounts and coordinating closely with global internal teams. This role requires strong relationship-building abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to understand technical product features and translate them into customer value. The successful candidate will collaborate with sales, engineering, manufacturing, finance, and support teams to develop and execute customer strategies while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Manage and grow relationships with assigned customer accounts Serve as the primary point of contact between customers and internal teams Collaborate with global sales teams to develop and execute account strategies Coordinate cross-functional activities with engineering, manufacturing, finance, and support departments Build trust with customers and maintain strong long-term relationships Professionally address customer inquiries, concerns, and escalations Support program management activities and ensure timely communication and follow-up Participate in evening meetings as needed to support overseas teams and global operations Qualifications Required 6-10 years of experience in account management, sales, customer relationship management, or related roles Strong experience and technical knowledge in Semiconductors, IC assembly, and IC packaging Experience in semiconductor, electronics, manufacturing, or technical industries Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and customer programs effectively Strong customer service mindset and relationship-building capabilities Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field Engineering degree is a plus Ability to analyze situations logically and identify effective solutions Preferred Experience working in global or cross-cultural business environments Japanese bilingual skills are a big plus, but not required Work Environment & Benefits Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote Semiannual bonus program DRA / Profit sharing Commuter transportation benefits Collaborative global team environment Long-term career growth opportunities Work Location Primary preference: San Diego, CA (92121) Additional candidate locations may be considered: San Jose, CA Phoenix, AZ Austin, TX Candidates located outside San Diego may be required to relocate to the San Diego area within approximately 6 months.
