Full Job Description Job Description Summary:

Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with assigned worldwide accounts. Identifies opportunities for account growth while offering customers a full array of value added services. Monitors competitor actions in each account to ensure that appropriate responses are formulated and communicated. Provides input into the overall account strategy in conjunction with the global business development director and is responsible for the execution of that strategy at the local level.

Essential Functions:

Ensures attainment of revenue and margin/yield goals for assigned FedEx accounts. Develops and implements a comprehensive strategy for each account that ensures attainment of all required sales activities to include sales calls, service calls, proposal presentations, vim trips, as well as any other sales activities. Establishes relationships with senior officer levels within assigned accounts. Develops and maintains account intelligence system that records, stores, and reports all sales activities, account information, marketplace and industry information, competitive information, as well as any other necessary information. Directs the development and implementation of sales and marketing programs within assigned accounts. Monitors FedEx companies' product quality and customer satisfaction within assigned accounts. Directs and/or executes problem resolution for all assigned accounts.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree/equivalent, preferably in business administration, with a major in marketing or finance.

Minimum Experience:

Five (5) years of directly related freight forwarding experience and two (2) years of consultative business development exp with emphasis on strategic planning. Strong understanding of the air and ocean freight forwarding import process from po issuance to final delivery. Experience selling origin consolidation services, vendor compliance & po management. Knowledge of FedEx products and it systems required. Demonstrated ability to achieve major account sales goals & to plan & execute major customer sales strategies. Ability to seek out available resources to create preliminary comprehensive account overviews and summaries, basic financial competitive analyses by industry vertical & quantitative benchmarking preferred. Prefer understanding of quantitative value-added selling attributes such as proper container utilization, cube optimizing for ocean and air freight containers, impact of inventory turnover improvement on net profit margin, etc. Strong human relations, communication & negotiation skills. Heavy travel required.

• Strong exposure to RFQs/RFPs

Additional Details:

This position is eligible for telecommuting. Candidates must reside near a major U.S. airport; preferred locations include New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Chicago. Other locations will be considered, excluding AK, HI, and U.S. territories.
