BASIC FUNCTION SUMMARY
: The role of New Accounts Representative is responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of customer inquiries and transactions related to new account openings at a bank. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of banking products and services. The representative plays a crucial role in building and maintaining customer relationships by ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for new customers. Adherence to bank policies and state/federal regulations is paramount. The following duties are not intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties required in this position. This job description is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. This role may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional duties as requested.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Duties, Skills, Responsibilities and Expectations:
Guide customers through the account opening process, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately. Provide information about different types of accounts (checking, savings, CDs, etc.) and services offered by the bank, including cross-selling additional products. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and following up with new customers to ensure satisfaction and encourage loyalty. Receive and process new client accounts and changes to existing accounts, such as name changes, address changes, and product changes. Rent safe deposit boxes to customers, manage access with maximum protection, and maintain records of boxes and renters. Process transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, payments, and check orders, accurately and efficiently. Maintain accurate and organized records of customer interactions, transactions, and account-related documentation. Adhere to all bank policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations. Maintain customer confidentiality and report suspicious activities as required. Perform end-of-day balancing, reconciliation, and oversee year-end reporting and special projects such as safe deposit box audits. Complete daily logs, organize records for easy review, and perform related clerical duties as needed. Assist with branch operations and support other team members, participating in training sessions and staying updated on new products, services, and regulatory changes. Must comply with all bank policies and procedures that are job related and/or consistent with business necessity.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Proficient in computer (Word and Excel) and general office skills High-level professionalism and ability to maintain customer confidentiality. High attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills Excellent verbal & written communication skills. Flexibility to deal with interruptions, changing priorities, and deadlines. Ability to read and understand regulations, policies, and procedures. Interpersonal skills including courtesy, tact, and diplomacy as giving and obtaining information may require some discussion of a sensitive or personal nature.
