In this role, you will oversee equipment lifecycle processes, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure optimal performance of all heavy equipment assets. Your expertise will drive efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness across our operations, supporting our commitment to excellence in construction, manufacturing, or logistics environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team and manage complex supply chains while maintaining high standards of mechanical reliability and operational readiness. Responsibilities Manage the procurement process for heavy equipment and parts, including sourcing OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) components and negotiating supplier contracts to secure the best pricing and terms. Oversee maintenance schedules and repair operations for heavy machinery, ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to streamline supply chain management, monitor inventory levels, and optimize warehouse management practices. Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems to track equipment status, maintenance history, and inventory control. Lead demand planning efforts by forecasting equipment needs based on project schedules and operational demands. Supervise shipping & receiving activities related to equipment parts and ensure accurate order management system entries for seamless logistics. Maintain mechanical knowledge of various equipment types including forklifts, HVAC units, auto body repair tools, and automotive diagnostics equipment to support troubleshooting and repairs. Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to equipment operation, repair procedures, and warehouse practices. Collaborate with procurement management teams to develop sourcing strategies that align with operational goals while managing costs effectively. Provide customer service support by addressing internal stakeholder needs related to equipment availability and performance issues. Qualifications Proven experience in supply chain management, procurement management, or logistics within manufacturing, construction, or dealership environments. Strong knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance, OEM parts sourcing, and automotive diagnostics. Familiarity with warehouse experience including shipping & receiving procedures, inventory management, and order management systems such as AS400 or similar platforms. Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in equipment repair—especially forklifts, HVAC units, or other heavy machinery—and the ability to perform basic troubleshooting. Proficiency in using CMMS and ERP systems for data entry, maintenance tracking, inventory control, and demand planning. Excellent negotiation skills coupled with a thorough understanding of pricing strategies within supply chain contexts. Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining attention to detail in data entry and inventory control tasks. Strong communication skills to coordinate with suppliers, internal teams, and external vendors effectively.
