Role:
The Account Manager II - SMS, plays a critical role in driving Arena's text messaging programs, managing the texting product to success, and working on campaigns across this direct response channel. Serving as the primary day-to-day Account Executive and Client Services contact, this role ensures clear communication, trusted partnerships, and seamless execution from project start through final delivery. This position is centered on ownership, organization, and accountability, leading a complex service, coordinating cross-functional teams, and balancing timelines, budgets, and performance across active campaigns. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, high-stakes political and advocacy environments, brings exceptional attention to detail, and stays calm when priorities shift (because they will). Beyond texting management, the Account Manager works closely with Arena's internal finance, development, and engineering teams, as well as external vendors, to ensure every deliverable meets Arena's high standards for quality and impact. This role supports Arena's data-driven approach by tracking performance, identifying opportunities for optimization, and contributing to continuous improvement across campaign outcomes.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Political Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
Minimum Requirements:
2-4 years of account or product management experience in texting, communications, marketing, or related roles Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects under tight deadlines Experience supporting or leading marketing strategy for candidates or issue advocacy Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills with exceptional attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Ability to stay calm, organized, and solutions-focused under pressure
Preferred:
Text messaging experience with a political campaign, advocacy organization, nonprofit, or corporate organization Experience managing complex project execution Familiarity with digital advertising platforms and targeting strategies Experience working with vendors and digital production partners

Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee marketing and communications strategy for all company clients who utilize text messaging Serve as the primary point of contact for Account Executives and Client Services, providing proactive updates and clear guidance Manage the execution of projects across the full texting channel Coordinate internal teams, creative resources, and external vendors to ensure projects meet timelines, budgets, and client objectives Track deliverables, manage schedules, and flag risks early to prevent delays Staying up to date on industry standards, carrier regulations, and relevant texting guidelines Research targeting options and performance opportunities to improve campaign outcomes Review and proof message materials to ensure accuracy, quality, and alignment with strategy Ensure all projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in accordance with Arena's quality standards
