Summary:
The Shelter Advocacy Supervisor (SAS) is responsible for the human services and advocacy functions of DAWN's confidential emergency shelter. This role oversees shelter advocacy staff, client services, crisis line operations, support groups, and youth programming in partnership with the Shelter Operations Supervisor. The Shelter Advocacy Supervisor ensures that survivors and their children receive high-quality, trauma-informed, empowerment-based services during their shelter stay and through their transition to stable housing. This role requires strong leadership, conflict resolution, and critical thinking skills to support residents in crisis, guide advocates in complex situations, and connect clients to stable housing resources. Given the nature of crisis work, the Shelter Advocacy Supervisor is adaptable, responsive, and able to manage competing priorities involving staff, residents, and clients effectively. This role is being introduced as part of a pilot program. After one year, the agency will evaluate the position's impact and ongoing alignment with organizational needs, with the goal of determining long-term opportunities for the role.Similar jobs in Kent, WA
