Job Summary:
The Marketing Coordinator III oversees marketing, promotion, and publicity functions for a college, division, or the University under minimal supervision. Creates and implements marketing strategies using advertising, media, direct mail, etc. Coordinates production of materials specified in marketing plans and calendars. Consults with product and/or program development.
Additional Department Summary:
Works with department and campus partners to support the University by developing and executing content-driven marketing strategies that advance recruitment goals. Ensures messaging is consistent, audience-focused and aligned with the UA brand voice across all platforms. Applies knowledge of emerging content strategy trends to strengthen effectiveness of communications.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of marketing, public relations, communications, or advertising experience; OR master's degree and two (2) years of marketing, public relations, communications, or advertising experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Must be able to master UA editorial and brand writing style. Must have the ability to work as part of a team under pressure and follow a production schedule and coordinate responsibilities for several tasks at a time. Ability to take responsibility for projects, following through from conception to completion. Must have competence in writing, editing and proofreading copy and using macOS and Microsoft Office. Must present a strong portfolio of publication and writing samples. Advanced writing, editing and proofreading skills with demonstrated ability to produce effective long and short-form marketing content. Strong understanding of content strategy across print, email, web and digital platforms. Ability to adapt messaging for different audiences, channels and stages of the recruitment funnel. Knowledge of editorial standards including AP style. Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working with cross-functional teams. Strong analytical abilities, persistence and resourcefulness in tracking down information, awareness of trends in style and usage, understanding of UA style and the ability to apply it in editing/proofing many different publications. Experience writing for higher education recruitment, admissions or enrollment marketing. Experience developing print and direct mail campaigns. Experience writing for email and web platforms. Experience contributing to or developing content strategies across multiple marketing channels. Experience collaborating with designers and creative teams to develop integrated campaigns. Experience with UA brand voice.
